Oklahoma Real Estate Exam Day Tips
Practical tips for exam day on the Oklahoma PSI real estate exam — what to bring, how to use your 4-hour time limit, state section strategy, and next steps after testing.
Oklahoma Real Estate Exam Day Tips
The Oklahoma real estate exam gives you 4 hours for 130 questions — the most generous time allocation of any state covered in this guide. That means approximately 110 seconds per question on average. With a 70% passing threshold, you have more room than states requiring 75% — but preparation is still essential. Here is how to make exam day count.
What to Bring
PSI requires two forms of identification:
- Primary ID: Government-issued photo ID with your signature (Oklahoma driver's license, US passport, or state ID)
- Secondary ID: Any document with your name (credit card, debit card, or another government ID)
- Your name on both IDs must match your PSI exam registration exactly
Do NOT bring: - Cell phone or smartwatch - Calculator, notes, or any study materials - Food or beverages inside the testing room
Arrive at least 30 minutes early. PSI provides scratch paper and pencils. Store personal items in provided lockers.
Time Management with 4 Hours
You have 4 hours for 130 questions — roughly 110 seconds each. This is more time than most state real estate exams. Use it wisely:
Strategy: 1. Move through all 130 questions at a comfortable pace — do not rush 2. Flag questions you are unsure about 3. After all 130, go back to flagged questions 4. For genuinely uncertain questions, eliminate at least 2 wrong choices before selecting an answer 5. Use the extra time to double-check your math answers 6. Never leave a blank — no penalty for guessing
Because Oklahoma gives you extra time, you should have time to complete two full passes through the exam if needed.
State Section Strategy (Questions 81 to 130)
The 50-question state section follows the 80-question national section. Stay focused — the state section is where underprepared candidates lose the most points.
Key Oklahoma facts to have locked in before exam day: - OREC: 6 members, Title 59, Chapter 20 - Pre-license: 90 hours; renewal: every 3 years, 21 hours CE - Passing score: 70% (91/130), 4-hour limit - Property Condition Disclosure Statement: seller provides BEFORE buyer makes offer - Earnest money: deposit within 3 business days - Records retention: 5 years - Oklahoma uses both deed of trust (non-judicial) and mortgage (judicial) - No state transfer tax in Oklahoma - Oklahoma fair housing mirrors federal 7 (OKC and Tulsa add sexual orientation) - License designations: salesperson, broker, broker associate, associate
Watch for Tricky Phrasing

The Night Before
- Light review of the Oklahoma-specific facts above — no new content
- Prepare your IDs and everything you need the night before
- Sleep 7 to 8 hours
- Eat a real breakfast before the exam
After the Exam
PSI delivers results immediately. A passing score gives you documentation for your OREC license application. A failing score gives you a diagnostic report — use it to target your weakest areas before retaking.
