# Vermont Real Estate Exam Day Tips

The Vermont real estate exam is 110 questions over 3.5 hours. With only 30 state questions requiring 75% correct (meaning you can miss no more than 7), every state question matters. Here is how to approach exam day.

Before You Arrive

Verify your PSI testing location. Vermont's PSI centers include Burlington and possibly other approved sites. Confirm the exact address when you register.

Bring two forms of ID. A government-issued photo ID plus a secondary ID. Both must show your legal name exactly as registered with PSI. A name mismatch can prevent you from testing.

Leave study materials at home or in your car. No notes, phones, or electronic devices are allowed in the testing area.

At the Testing Center

During the Exam

Budget your time. 3.5 hours for 110 questions equals roughly 1.9 minutes per question. Maintain a steady pace — check your time after each 25 questions.

Read every word. PSI question qualifiers ("most likely," "except," "always," "never") often determine the correct answer. Read the full question before looking at the answer choices.

Prioritize accuracy on state questions. With only 30 state questions and a 75% threshold, you have very little margin for error. Give Vermont-specific questions deliberate attention — these are the questions that distinguish passing candidates from those who retake.

Answer every question. No penalty for wrong answers. Flag uncertain questions and return to them rather than leaving them blank on your first pass.

After the Exam
