Illinois License Law

What is the process for an Illinois real estate license complaint investigation?

AComplaints are reviewed by the Illinois Association of Realtors, not IDFPR
BIDFPR receives complaints, investigates, and may issue citations, enter consent orders, or hold formal hearings with possible license discipline✓ Correct
CAll complaints go directly to state court for resolution
DComplaints are handled by the county where the violation occurred

Explanation

When a complaint is filed with IDFPR, the Department investigates to determine if there is probable cause of a license law violation. If probable cause is found, IDFPR may attempt to resolve the matter informally through a consent order, or proceed to a formal administrative hearing before the Department. Possible disciplinary actions include reprimand, probation, fines, license suspension, or revocation.
