Week-by-Week Plan
Week 1: Alabama law — AREC (9 members), Title 34/Chapter 27, license types, annual renewal (15 CE hours/year), violations and penalties.
Week 2: Agency — seller's agent, buyer's agent, dual/limited agent, written disclosure requirement, transaction broker option.
Week 3: Trust accounts — delivery timelines, record retention (5 years), prohibited commingling.
Week 4: National content review — financing (TRID), valuation (cap rate), fair housing, contracts.
Week 5: Full timed practice exams (140 questions, 4 hours). Target 78%+ before scheduling.
Scheduling
Apply to AREC, receive approval, schedule through PSI. Exam fee: $75. Testing centers in Birmingham, Montgomery, Mobile, Huntsville, and other locations.
Note: Alabama requires applicants to be 19 years old (not 18 like most states).
