The Baseline: 40 to 80 Hours of Self-Study
After completing the NH required 40-hour pre-license course, most candidates need an additional 40 to 80 hours of focused self-study before sitting for the PSI exam. Candidates with no real estate background should aim for the higher end.
That translates to: - 2 hours per day for 3 to 5 weeks, or - 4 hours per day for 2 to 3 weeks if you want to compress your timeline
Do not try to cram in a single week. The New Hampshire exam tests retention and application, not just memorization. Spaced repetition over several weeks produces better outcomes than last-minute cramming.
